I strongly believe in proper movement. The body is a very complicated machine with a wonderful ability to adapt, grow, compensate for weakness, and develop new movement patterns if needed. However, this can also lead to bad habits being formed and they can go unnoticed for many years. The first thing I do with all new clients is to assess these patterns to look for imbalances, pain, compensations, and anything that could cause future issues.

Once the body is moving, I want to keep that momentum going! I am all about functional training, or training the body to respond correctly and efficiently to real life situations. Standing, siting, vacuuming, getting up and down off the floor, running, sprinting, jumping… these are all motions that every human being should be able to do and I train not only exercises, but motions. The difference between the two is that exercises will train specific muscles, motions will teach those muscles to work with the nearby supporting muscles properly so the body moves correctly and injury free.

There is no freedom like the ability to move easily and pain free. It has opened doors in so many of my client’s lives and I would love to open some in your life as well!
